Experience
I have a bachelor's degree from Ohio State University, where I majored in International Studies. My focus was on Latin America. I had the opportunity to study in Quito, Ecuador while in school, which is a long way from my home town of Lake Grove, New York. I am very drawn to Spanish language and culture, and have had the opportunity to visit more than one Central American country. I welcome the opportunity to teach Spanish in my tutoring sessions. I've worked with pupils from K-12, as well as ESL students. My employment history includes positions as a Spanish-language interpreter, as well as translator for written works, in a number of specialized areas, including social services, and the legal and medical fields.With my background in languages, I think I'd be a good fit for tutoring assignments working with students who need some extra help in English, Spanish 1-4, and ESL/ELL.I enjoy staying active in my spare time by going to the gym, playing tennis, and doing yoga. I also like to work in my garden, and do some cooking.
